Let's go back to a simpler better time, when men were men, everything was in black and white, and mobsters had ironic nicknames, the 1900's. This movie was one of the greatest I've ever seen, so good that I don't even need an explenation. but I will anyway. The movie starts out with a view of mafia life from the inside and from the view of the the scared people they terrorize. It focuses on the story of the young Terry Malloy, who's struggling with the moral issue of ratting out on the mob, going against everything that he was taught to believe in and betraying his brother, and keeping silent, the thing that led to the death of his friend and the brother of his love intrest. What's poor Terry to do, he isn't that smart as he is suffering from his past as a boxer and the crippling emotional incident that will later be explained in the movie, and he doesn't really know anything other than the live he's lived. But then, came along the one thing that has brought down all men, the great and the weak, a woman. Through her influence and the influence of an awesome priest he begins to see the good in himself and decide what he should do. the movie was awesome and everyone should watch it at least once in their lives, when i take over the world, i may make that rule madatory.
